Meet Brent Smith Indiana Bail Bondsman

Agent Brent Smith is from Indianapolis, IN, and has extensive experience in public safety. He believes that his savior, Jesus Christ, has called him to serve his community and provide second chances in the bail industry, reflecting the love Christ has shown us. Brent's professional journey began in 2007 as a recruit police officer with the Indianapolis Public Schools. He later became the owner of Charter United Protective Services Agency, LLC, and worked as a bail and fugitive recovery agent from 2006 to 2013. Since 2013, he has been a bail agent and has served as a public safety officer at Ivy Tech State Community College since 2009. His educational background includes various training programs, such as Pre-Basic Training through the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) and Pre-Law Enforcement training through the U.S. Department of Labor, as well as certifications in Legal Concepts and Executive Protection from the International Foundation of Protection Officers.

He also holds certifications and training in defense tactics from FEMA and Control Tactics, among others. In addition to his role as a bail agent, Brent operates a youth outreach organization called “Realize the Gift in You.” He draws inspiration from his uncle, the late Honorable Indiana House State Representative William "Bill" Crawford. Brent is dedicated to serving the people of Indianapolis and surrounding counties by helping reunite families when their loved ones are arrested. He believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to make things right when given a chance.
